UBA Meeting with villagers of Orathur to discuss and plan about the community issues for their better livelihood

A meeting with the villagers of Orathur,an UBA adopted village in Kundrathur block of Kanchipuram district to discuss and plan about the community issues for their better livelihood was held in the presence of Dr.V.Thirumurugan,Nodal officer-UBA and Associate Director (Campus life)-SRMIST on 21.07.2020 at Panchayat office .

Dr.T.Deepa,Associate Professor-ECE department , SRMIST organised the session under the guidance of nodal officer and shared ideas/methods about organic farming,Vermicomposting,tailoring and wire bag making to improve their earning in the wake of COVID pandemic.

Mr.Parthasarathy, Panchayat Secretary and 30 villagers participated.
The trees planted in the village earlier by UBA during previous projects were by inspected and action taken to replace the spoiled saplings.

The villagers were taken round the Vermicomposting yard @karsankal,an unit of Tamilnadu Government.
