The
specific themes of SH-SRD 2021 are to design affordable solar cookers for rural
households to avoid pollution of conventional fuels and other inefficient
cooking methods. The next one is to propose ideas to treat wastewater in rural
applications. The final sub-theme is to provide Agri-tech solutions for stubble

From the three verticals, Renewable Energy, Water and Waste Management, 15 to
20 teams have participated in the second round on 22.10.2021 from 9.00 AM to

The eminent field experts from IIT Madras and IIT Tirupati selected three
top-ranked in each vertical.
How
the students show interest in sustainable rural development technologies
ensures the concrete hope that the younger generation will provide innovative
solutions to the rural community and development of the nation.
"My idea of village swaraj is that it
is a complete republic, independent of its neighbours for its own vital wants,
and yet interdependent for many others in which dependence is a necessity”.
Mahatma Gandhiji says this. We strongly believe the youngsters will put their
efforts to make true of Mahatma’s dreams on village development as it’s the
backbone of our country.
Thank
you all for being part of the Smart Hackathon and making it a grand success.
