76th Independence Day Celebration and Gram Sabha at UBA-SRMIST adopted village Nattarasanpattu held on 15.08.2022
On the occasion of 76th independence day, on behalf of UBA-SRMIST Dr.B.Samuel Jacob and Mr.S.Sridhar have participated in the function organized by the Government Higher secondary School, Nattarasanpattu.
The function was headed by the village president Mrs.Vasanthi Sambasivam, Mr.Chakkrapani (Headmaster) and other village administrative officials. The functionbegan with the flag hoisting and a rally with the Tri-color National flag. The students performed various cultural activities that demonstrated the patriotism, remembrance of freedom fighters and the importance of independence towards Nation’s development. Dr.Samuel Jacob addressed the gathering with an emphasis on various UBA activities for the rural upliftment. The function ended with a National anthem.
A grama sabha meet was held at Melpakkam in the presence of village president, panchayat officials and the village residents. Mr.Seetharaman presented the financial expenditure incurred on various developmental activities that include water tank and providence of water facility to individual homes through Jal Jeevan Scheme, street light installation, renovation of water ponds, training for self-help groups.
Village president addressed the gathering with the various initiatives taken by the Central and State Government towards the rural development. Village residents have asked for few initiatives like road extension, affordance of transport facilities through Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and installation of dustbins at scattered location for the responsible solid waste disposal. UBA-SRMIST representatives have also participated in the Gram Sabha and emphasized on the initives taken up for rural employment, entrepreneurship, healthcare and sanitation. The meeting ended with the vote of thanks.
