The screening camp at Government Mid School was
essential due to the high prevalence of oral diseases such as dental caries and
gingivitis among children. Many children in this area lack regular access to
dental care, making early detection and preventive care crucial. Dental caries,
being one of the most common chronic diseases in children, can lead to pain,
infection, and affect overall health and development if left untreated.
Similarly, early-stage gum diseases like gingivitis, if not addressed, can
progress to more severe periodontal issues. Early identification of oral health
issues allows for timely intervention, preventing serious complications and
promoting better oral hygiene practices among children.
