Grand Opening of UBA Model Physiotherapy Centre at Anjur Adopted village - 22 August 2024

 

    The grand opening of the UBA Model Physiotherapy Centre took place on 22nd August 2024 at the Anganwadi Centre in Anjur New Village, Avigna Celeste. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. & Mrs. Devarajan, Panchayat President of Anjur, who served as the Chief Guests. The event featured a special address by Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director and Nodal Officer of UBA. The ceremony commenced with the Chief Guest, accompanied by the Special Guest and dignitaries, inaugurating the Centre by cutting the ribbon, followed by the lighting of the traditional kuthuvilaku. This auspicious act was performed by the Chief Guest Mr.Devarajan, Special Guest Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Principal Investigator Dr. K. Vadivelan, Co-Principal Investigators Dr. M. Prakash, as well as the special invitees, Mr. & Mrs. Sethu Varadharajan, and Mr. C.K. Arun and Mr. Jayaraman, ward members. Dr. K. Vadivelan delivered the opening speech, addressing the gathering and emphasizing the importance of this initiative. The Special Guest, Dr. V. Thirumurugan, followed with remarks on the significance of the UBA initiative and its benefits to the community. The Chief Guest Mr. Devarajan also shared words of encouragement and support for SRM's efforts. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Prakash. Following the formal proceedings, cakes were distributed to the children and parents present. The event saw the participation of 20 children, aged 0-6 years, along with their parents, including three special children with identified disabilities. Initial assessments and treatments were conducted by Ph.D. scholars Mr. J R Abishek and Ms. M. Manju Bashini, as well as postgraduate students in pediatrics: Mr. Yaswanth, Ms. Monica, Ms. Debora, Ms. Malathi, Ms. Poongothai, and Ms. Swetha. The event concluded with a tree planting ceremony, where saplings were planted by the Chief Guest and Special Guest. This was followed by a photo session and testimonials from parents, marking a successful launch of the UBA Model Physiotherapy Centre. The photos of inauguration have been enclosed along with this.
