Need of the Activity:

ü      Implementing a computer literacy program in high schools is essential for equipping students with the necessary skills to thrive in today's digital world.

      Proficiency in computer skills enables students to effectively utilize online learning platforms and digital resources, thereby improving their academic outcomes.

ü      Familiarity with computer applications and digital tools prepares students for future employment, as   many professions require basic to advanced computer skills.

Description of the Event: DIGITAL FOUNDATIONS: "Exploring Computer Basics for High School Students" is an educational event designed to introduce high school students to fundamental computer concepts. This interactive session typically covers topics such as

  1. Computer Hardware & Software: Understanding the essential components of a computer, including the CPU, RAM, storage, input/output devices, and different types of software.
  2. Operating Systems & User Interfaces: A hands-on look at operating systems like Windows, teaching students how to navigate and use them effectively.
  3. Internet Safety & Digital Literacy: Educating students on safe internet practices, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible online behaviour.
  4. Applications & Productivity Tools: Demonstrating how to use essential softwarelike word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation tools to enhance learning[LIBRE OFFICE].


This event is ideal for students with little to no prior experience with computers and serves as a foundation for further exploration in technology-related fields. Sessions may include live demonstrations, hands-on activities, and Q&A segments to ensure engagement and practical understanding.
