About UBA-SRMIST

 UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN- SRM INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan – SRMIST Section was launched under valuable guidance and support from UGC/MHRD/AICTE in November 2019. It is a flagship program involving the adoption of nearby villages in the Districts of Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram with the approval of the respective District Collectorates. Various developmental activities are carried out to uplift the living standards of the village community. UBA-SRMIST, jointly with Maraimalai nagar municipality, conducted a free Covid-Vaccination camp for over 3000 people. UBA-SRMIST cell conducted various social awareness programs on essential measures of healthcare awareness, medical camps, welfare schemes, free education schemes for deserving students from the adopted villages, entrepreneurship opportunities and skill training for under privileged women and unemployed youths, and eradication of usage of single-use plastics. Various socio- economic and welfare activities were conducted periodically in all the adopted villages to improve the rural people's living standards and the villages' sustainable development

Vendhar Education Grants Scheme

ü  The objective of this education Programme are to improve the quality of education of rural students in the adopted villages and encourage them to pursue higher education

ü  The aim of the scheme to provide free education to the poor students up to UG level in SRMIST who get higher marks and studied in government schools of the adopted villages.

ü  This benefit will be provided to one student per year for each adopted village.
